The meeting was attended by 5 guests from abroad – Secondees from UMI and TUK and 5 people representing the company ZAMAK MERCATOR. The purpose of the meeting was to present and discuss the implementation of the rotational barrel segment in accordance with previously adopted assumptions.
The way to achieve the planned goal was the presentation of the constructor from ZAM Mr. Sławomir Knapik entitled “Ready to use segment of the rotational sleeve obtained thanks to rapid prototyping and its final appearance”. The presentation discusses the stages of designing manufacturing processes using conventional techniques compared to the stages of designing computer-aided CAD / CAM manufacturing processes. The element and model of the Doosan Puma MSX 3100 CNC machine used for the production of the rotational barrel segment were presented. Then workshops were held during which a discussion on the latest achievements of the NEWEX project took palce, and the current study of materials using extruders, including 2×24 laboratory extruders, was presented in the ZAMAK MERCATOR showroom. During the meeting, a discussion also arose concerning the optimization of the plasticizing system dedicated for use in the preparation of polymer composites of high filling degree, such as: fiberglass, talc, carbon fiber, chalk, wood flour, glass balls, metal powders, impact modifiers, flame retardants, powders polymer, nanoadditives. The expected level of filling in this case is up to 85% by weight, depending on the additive used.
